Geo Print and Sunnies

Happy Easter, everyone! Unfortunately I was up most of the night ill, so I missed out on all of the festivities today. :( I still wanted to at least make an attempt to look cute, though, if only to make myself feel a little better. I think it worked! I hope all of you had a great weekend surrounded by loved ones!

I have always thought aviators looked odd on me for some reason, but my cousin talked me into this pair. I'm glad she did, I love them! Bonus points for having mint arms, too.

Family Fatshion

Hi again! Two posts in one day! GASP! I wanted to share a few snaps of my cousin who has been visiting me. She has always been someone I looked to for style advice and confidence when I was at an age where I didn't have much sense in either category. Love this kid!

Striped Shirtdress

Hi lovelies! Sorry I've been a bit MIA, my fabulous cousin has been visiting me and we've kept pretty busy. Some of that time we've spent doing our favorite thing-- shopping! I picked up a few of these dresses in different patterns and colors. They all fit amazingly but for some reason were gaping a bit at the bust. I put a few stitches on the inside and it seems to have done the trick. Woohoo!

Marvelous Mondays: Pencil Skirts

Hi loves! Happy Marvelous Monday! This week's challenge was "pencil skirts." This was really tough for me as I don't really care for them. (If you're a huge pencil skirt fan, sorry! They're just not for me!)

If you're new to the blog, here's the idea behind Marvelous Monday:
"Our philosophy: Monday is nobody’s favorite day of the week, but maybe its terrible reputation is a little undeserved. We’re on a mission to make ours (and hopefully yours) a little less awful by dressing marvelously!"

There are currently 5 of us participating in the challenges, so make sure to check out the other ladies' looks! I've posted links at the bottom of this entry for your perusal.

Still, I did have this thrift find waiting in my closet for a reason to try it out! :D What do you think?

Shower Day!

Today's the day of my bridal shower! We're leaving in a few minutes to head over to the venue. Unfortunately I'm feeling a little sick (AND it's raining, haha!). But I have high hopes that today will be lots of fun with people I love. I'll share some pictures from the shower later on! :)

Hi loves! Sorry for the absence. My cousin is visiting me from Texas for my bridal shower. Yayyy! :) This is the second time I've shared this sweater on the blog, slightly different twist.

Marvelous Mondays: Character Inspired Look

Hey babes! Yet another Marveloussss Monday to share with you! This week's challenge was to come up with a look inspired by a fictional character!

I was torn between two choices for who I wanted to draw influence from. In one corner was Katniss Everdeen, the extremely kick-ass hero from The Hunger Games trilogy. In the other corner was Julia Houston from the TV show, Smash. In the end I went with Julia! Her wardrobe on the show has always appealed to me. Her standard look is usually soft, flowy fabrics, some tall booties, some earth-toned jewelry, all topped off with a scarf and her little nerd glasses. In a way I feel like I'm almost cheating-- she's really only about three degrees west from the way I dress normally.

images found through some google searching from fabsugar.com.

But it'd be remiss of me if I didn't point out that it's not just this character's artistic fashion sense that appeals to me. Her character on the show is a strong, stubborn, beautiful lady writer. She loves music and is passionate about her art. And she's not afraid to take risks! Love her.

Well, what do you guys think? Did I pull it off?

Sweet Sunday

Hi lovelies! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I didn't really have anything green that was also weather appropriate, so I wore green eyeshadow-- I don't think you can see it in these photos because of my glasses. Oops!

We're both really stoked today because we found out last night that we got the house we wanted! It's gorgeous. We'll be moving there around July. Woohoo!

It's also FRIDAY! Woohoo!

Wednesday Wedges

Well, the work week is half over! Woot woot! Wore this today to the office. There was a lot of discussion on the shoes, haha. I wouldn't want to run a marathon in them or anything, but they really weren't too bad on my feet. Plus they're cute!

Hope you guys are having a good week! :)

Marvelous Mondays: Studs & Spikes

Hey babes! It's MARVELOUS MONDAY again! Aren't you excited?!

Here's the idea: "Our philosophy: Monday is nobody’s favorite day of the week, but maybe its terrible reputation is a little undeserved. We’re on a mission to make ours (and hopefully yours) a little less awful by dressing marvelously!"

I have to tell you that these pictures were really tough to take-- there's a crazy thunderstorm rolling in, and the wind outside is nuts! I made it through in one piece though, never fear. ;)

The theme for this week was studs or spikes. This is one of my all-time favorite trends. I chose these sandals and cone stud earrings for this look. These sandals were a hit at the office, lemme tell ya. I got compliments all day! I love these shoes.

Make sure you see what the other girls have done with the challenge this week! (We've added one new blog to the mix!) I've linked to their blogs at the bottom of the entry.
