Hello, loves! I'm so excited because today I finally get to share some of our wedding photos with you! I think I'll probably break this up into a few posts, because there were so many great details from the day that I am dying to show.
We got married at O'Leno State Park, which is nestled in Northern Florida, on the bank of the Santa Fe River. It's in High Springs, which is a teeny little town known for its amazing underwater cave system that divers come from around the world to explore.
We had the ceremony at 10 o'clock in the morning because we wanted to avoid the warmest parts of the day, and we wanted to soak up as much amazing golden light as possible.
The decorations were a mix of things that I made and things I had collected over the past few years. I painted and cut the signs myself. The "leave a key to happiness" door was salvaged from an old building on my parents' property by my mom and my cousin. My best friend helped me cut and assemble the fans. We made them from really pretty scrapbook paper which I later stamped with our initials. I used the leftover scraps of paper to make the little pennants on the tables.
My grandfather passed away two years ago, and it was tough not having him there to share the day with us. The ring with the blue stone was his, and he never took it off! My mother let me borrow it, so it was my something old, borrowed, and blue-- and it meant a lot to me to have a little piece of him with me.
My aunt and uncle made and decorated our cake. They kept what they were doing a suprise, and it was a great one-- I loved how it looked!
Our photos were taken by the wonderful Ector and Kristina of
33 and a Third Photography! I have to leave you with this one:
